Tips on Improving a Used Trampoline
Posted on: June 17, 2011
Trampolines are enjoyable for the entire family. They are also great for staying physically fit. When a trampoline is damaged, though, it can be quite unsafe to use and have someone come in to repair it. The good news is, the majority of trampoline repairs are comparatively easy to do and you can do some improvements on your used trampoline on your own.
Before you work on your used trampoline, know that the unit must meet the required safety standards, especially when children are going to use it. Also, a 10ft trampoline could be more difficult to repair.
If you notice even just one damaged spring, you must replace it. Gauge the damaged spring and make sure the replacement is the same width and length. Take the damaged spring out via the grommet hold and attach the new one in its place.
If there's a small cut in the trampoline, you can stitch it up. For bigger cuts, you can purchase special patches and apply unto the cuts. Cuts or holes that are about an inch in diameter or more will definitely call for patching up.
Another common problem with used trampolines is that they tend to budge or hop when being used. In this case you should consider buying straps and anchors to ''tie down'' your trampoline. These can be easily bought from a trampoline parts shop. You can also buy an anchor kit, which has all the parts you need to keep your trampoline stable even against strong wind.
